Meet the Family
Three pets, one house, and a whole lot to learn about getting along.
Lady Belle
The little white puppy with a big heart
Lady Belle spent her mornings at the animal shelter watching the caretakers walk past her kennel, hoping one would stop at her door. One day, one did, and a family of four with kind voices and open arms took her to her forever home.
She’s fun-loving and sweet, she loves people, and she always wants to please. She knows she should be more lady-like, but sometimes the excitement is just too much to contain!
Breed: Snoodle (schnauzer and poodle)
Age: 8 months
Favorite food: anything dropped from the table
Best friend: the little boy
Shadow
Tough on the outside, friendly deep down
Shadow was here first, so when a new puppy arrived he arched his back and hissed, “Who are you? What are you doing here? This is our house!” He’s the leader of the two cat brothers, and he does love to pounce.
With his little fangs showing even when his mouth is closed, Shadow can look rough and tough. But deep down he’s really friendly. That’s just the way he smiles.
Looks: long, lean and all black, with yellow eyes
Family: Cuddles’ brother, from the same litter
Says hello: “Hi, who are you?”
Cuddles
The big, mellow cat who’d rather be napping
Cuddles growled at the new puppy too. The two brothers were adopted long before Lady Belle, and they just weren’t sure about sharing their family.
Truth be told, Cuddles is a mellow, easygoing cat who would much rather be asleep, on a lap if he can find one. He might look a little grumpy, but there’s a soft heart under all that orange fur.
Looks: a big orange marmalade tabby with green eyes and a short, stubby tail
Favorite spot: a warm lap
Says hello: with a big yawn and a sleepy grunt

Meet the Authors
Adele & Bill Harrison
Tales of Lady Belle began at home. Lady Belle, Shadow and Cuddles are based on pets who shared Adele and Bill’s own house, and the rooms in the books are drawn from their memories of it, right down to the half wall by the stairs where two curious cats first peeked around the corner.
Adele is the writer. She has a reason for everything, down to which fruit goes with which virtue (one bite of a lemon will teach anyone self-control!). Bill is a woodworker, an avid reader since boyhood and the series’ biggest fan, who will happily tell anyone he meets about Lady Belle.
Their hope for the series, in their own words: to “stir up others to a deeper knowledge of God and relationship with Jesus by sharing stories and activities that engage the heart and mind.” They love sharing Lady Belle with their grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Tales of Lady Belle is published by Choice Word Publication.

Talking with Lady Belle: a note for parents
Lady Belle talks about the books and the fruit of the Spirit. She never asks children for their name, address or any personal details, and anything for grown-ups, like the mailing list, is for parents only. We recommend a grown-up stays nearby while children talk with her.
